Pierce County Iris Society
Welcome to Pierce County Iris Society! We are a group of caring, fun-loving individuals of diverse
backgrounds, who share a mutual appreciation of iris. Our membership
includes people from Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap and King Counties in
Washington. PCIS was organized in 1952, with a purpose to develop the
science of horticulture and activities related to the study, propagation
and culture of the genus Iris. Objectives are to promote conservation
and protection of these plants, and to encourage those interested in
learning about the iris through exhibitions, public display gardens, and
regular meetings open to the public. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month at Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, 101 East 38
th Street and Pacific Avenue in Tacoma,
WA. We have interesting, informative programs each month, refreshments and door prizes. All are welcome. Our club maintains an iris garden at Point
Defiance Park in Tacoma.
Thank you!
